Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara Review

Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara, Boots £17.50
I received a mini version of Benefit's Bad Gal Lash Mascara in a magazine so long ago, and the other day I was "shopping my stash" and came across it once again! I used it a while ago but then got bored and moved onto a different mascara, but since rediscovering it (and this is a rare thing for me) I haven't changed up my mascara routine since! This mascara isn't amazing at lengthening my lashes, but it is amazing for making them look fuller. I think this is due to the huge wand, I thought the wand may have been smaller because it was a mini, but I don't think it could get any bigger. With this mascara you do have to put a few coats on but unlike some other mascaras when you build it up it doesn't clump or make your lashes feel crunchy/crispy if that makes sense!

The only downside to this mascara is that sometimes it doesn't last that long on my lashes, especially in this heat, it ends up half way down my face! I'm pretty sure they have released a waterproof version which I shall definitely be purchasing when this one runs out!

Have you tried this mascara?

First YouTube Video: Get Ready With Me

Hey guys!

I've been wanting to start  YouTube for a while now but I've been a bit nervous and didn't know what to film. Get Ready With Me videos are a personal favourite and it also means I don't have to talk and things like that, so it's not as nerve-racking! This is just a short video so if you would spare a couple of minutes to watch it, that would be great! And if you subscribe too, I'd love that!

Sorry for the dodgy editing and music.. I chose the music from the YouTube editor to avoid any copyright laws so it isn't really the best song ever! Although I annotated the products in the video, I will list them down below for mobile viewers.

Products Used:
Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation
eBay Beauty Blender
Rimmel Quad 'Smokey Brun'
MAC 209 Brush
Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara
Maybelline Brow Pencil (for spooly)
MAC Eyebrow Pencil 'Lingering'
Derma V10 Lip Balm
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Soap & Glory Lasting Perfection Concealer
Bourjois Blush 'Rose Pompon'
MAC 187 Brush

Thank you for watching! I hope you enjoyed, I'd love to hear about what you think of the video and the lighting, set-up etc. Also, if you'd like to see any videos in particular, let me know!

Nails of the Day: Floral

nail wraps: primark
Nail art is something I've never really ventured in to (unless polka dots count?) and I can almost guarantee it wouldn't turn out as planned. So when I saw these Nail Wraps in Primark I thought I'd give them a whirl as I knew I'd never be able to master a design like it myself. The ones I bought contained 20 nail foils (for fingers and toes) so for only £1 you can't really go wrong!

I've never tried any other nail wraps before so I wasn't entirely sure how they would turn out or how to apply them. On the back of the pack there were instructions which I followed (basically peel off the foil, stick down, file down excess) I did find the application a bit tricky and it was hard to file down the foils so I just ended up cutting the excess off. Despite looking really pretty, about an hour after applying them they began to fall off whilst I was washing up! I was a bit disappointed and ended up just taking them off anyway. I expect other nail wraps may be better than these ones, or it could have just been my dodgy application! Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!

Outfit of the Day: Aztec

smock dress: asos, kate moss for rimmel lipstick in 107: boots, sunglasses: primark
Firstly, I apologise for the dodgey photos, they were the best from a bad bunch! Secondly, how cute is this smock dress?! I really wanted the elephant smock dress from ASOS that the lovely Tor was wearing at the FABB Bloggers Event in Manchester a couple of weeks ago, but I'm not the biggest dress wearer and wasn't too sure if the smock style would suit me. As everyone knows, ASOS have the most amazing sales so I had a look in the sale section for some smock style dresses and I found this little beauty! It was only £15 so I thought I'd give it a whirl and if I didn't like it, it wasn't the end of the world. Luckily, I adore it! I got in from the petite section in a size 4 as most size 6/8 dresses are always too long and make me look shorter than I actually I am, I was a bit worried it would be too small but it isn't at all and it is a bit longer than I hoped but I still love it! It's so comfortable, airy and light; perfect for this hot and humid weather we seem to be having! The photos don't give the dress any justice (again, sorry!) and you can't really see the shape of it unfortunately! Also from ASOS, I bought the Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in 107, a gorgeous dark pinky berry shade (not very summery - I know) it was also in the sale for only £3.50 which is amazing! Not that they are expensive at full price either! Because the UK is currently experiencing a heatwave I have been wearing these tortoise shell wayfarer type style sunglasses from primark.

Hope you have a fab weekend, thank you for reading!

Outfit of the Day: Levis

vest - h&m, shorts - levis via ebay, belt - h&m, shoes - charles clinkard

So if you live in Britain you will know that it has been so hot recently and for once we are having an actual summer! I hope it stays like this for a while because I don't feel as though I've been able to make the most of the sun whilst being at school. We had sports day on Friday and whilst we were sitting on the field for 2 hours watching the track events, I burnt my arms and legs and have some crazy tan burn lines from where I was sat cross legged, haha. Yesterday I went on a bike ride with my home dogs friends which was great until some insect started attacking us - a negative of the hot weather! Tomorrow I have got a week of work experience which I am quite nervous for but also a bit excited! I am certainly not looking forward to having to wear trousers in this heat, I am wearing my mum's and all of them are flares haha!

Anyway, onto the outfit, I bought these shorts from ebay last year but I didn't get much wear out of them as they were (and still are) bloody huge on me, but I've paired them with a belt so that they will fit round my waist. The vest & sunglasses were featured in my recent haul and I have been wearing them both to death during the hot weather! I blogged about my shoes all the way back in February!! They are from Charles Clinkard and you can read about them here.

I hope you're all enjoying the hot weather!

Bubb & Dimples Nourishing Body Balm

Bubb & Dimples Nourishing Body Balm*
Bubb, Yum Yum & Dimples is a brand I've never come across before, but after dipping my toe into the Bubb & Dimples water, I want to buy the whole range! Bubb & Dimples is a completely natural brand and all the products are handmade in the UK. For me, this is great as I hate the thought of putting harsh chemicals and all sorts onto my face. Bubb & Dimples stock a range of luxury products: from body wash to candles. All products are suitable to be used all over the body as they all contain shea butter and soy, another thing which is right up by street as I have sensitive and quite dry skin as I suffer from eczema on my elbows and knees.
Onto the actual product, The Nourishing Body Balm comes with a muslin cloth, and although it is a 'body' balm and works great on the body, I actually prefer to use it on my face. Recently I have been trying to get my skin back in order and using a new spot treatment and it appears to be drying my skin out a bit and this is so moisturising so it is great for injecting a bit of moisture back into my skin. As you can see from the pictures above it is a thick balm but when massaged between your fingers it turns into an oil, I like to apply it to my face and massage it in with my fingers and then go in with the muslin cloth. I have been using this once daily for a while now and it makes my skin feel so much smoother!
I have combination skin and this works great for me, and I think it would work even better for dry skins as it makes your skin feel really hydrated and moisturised after using it, however I'm not too sure how well it would work on oily skin, it didn't make my skin any oiler/break out but that's just my skin!  Overall I'd definitely recommend The Nourishing Body Balm to those who get drier patches! And if you don't then you should definitely check out the Bubb & Dimples range.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!

FABB Event in Manchester

Hello everyone!

So if you follow me on twitter you may know that on Saturday I attended the FABB Bloggers Event in Manchester. It was run by the lovely girls Tor and Ray who are behind FABB Events and have done previous events in Leeds, Newcastle and such which were also very successful! It was my very first event so I was so nervous but I met up with Sam and Deanna in the station and then headed down to 2022NQ where the event was being held, it was quite concealed as it is underground but is so cool inside.

Once there we had a little walk around and visited each mini station where the brands told us about the products and things like that. There were so many cool brands, Derma V10, La Moda, Tinned Bananas, just to name a few. It was so nice to talk to northern bloggers, but unfortunately I was a bit nervous and didn't speak to many! Nevertheless, I had a great time and I am so thankful for Tor and Ray hosting the event, it was great!

During the event, we were able to tweet certain things to win prizes, unfortunately I didn't win anything but the prizes were amazing and included a dress from Chiara Fashion, an Amie Skincare Set, some Balance Me goodies and so many more!

I didn't manage to take any pictures whilst I was there, but I took some of the goodies we received when I got home. I was overwhelmed by how many we got, and struggled carrying them all home, haha! Here is a little sneak peek to what we got..

As you can see we were absolutely spoilt! I cannot wait to try all these lovely things out, and do some reviews on them. We did get some Pop Chips (new obsession - oh Lord!) and Jelly Belly Beans but I ate those on the way home ha! We also got some American sweets which I have been craving for since Saturday!

The brands:
American soda / Amie Skincare / Apivita / Ark Clothing / Atrixo / Balance Me / Barburrito / Beauty UK / Big Ruby Tattoos / Blanx / Casetagram / Cherry Rainbow / Chiara Fashion / Derma V10 / Eldora Lashes / Enrapture Hair / ESPA / Footner / Ginvera / Hair Trade / Halo Wipes / Ice Diamond Hair / Impress Nails / Jelly Belly / Jelly Button Jewellery / Kiss Lashes / La Moda / Lavish Alice / Look Fantastic / Neal and Wolf / Pearl Drops / Phil Smith / Popchips / Rock n Rose / Skinetica / South Beach / Sparkly Nails / Steel Rose / Stylist Pick / Tinned Bananas / Urban Beauty United / Veil Cover Cream / Viridian / Vita Liberata

Review: Maybelline Colour Tattoo On and On Bronze

maybelline colour tattoo in on & on bronze - boots £4.99

I know I'm a bit late to jump on the Maybelline Colour Tattoo bandwagon but they've never really appealed to me before now. After partaking in the #bbloggers chat about the best highstreet products I saw these come up a lot and so many bloggers raving about them, so I thought I'd try them out and although they've been reviewed to death, I thought I'd give my two cence. I picked up two shades in my recent haul post but I have only really been using On and On Bronze. It is a shimmery bronze-brown colour and is so pretty on it's own or with another shadow on top. A little bit goes a really long way with this product as it's so pigmented! For such a creamy product, the staying power is incredible (the swatch on my wrist didn't come off for ages and I ended up having to scrub it off ha!) and doesn't crease on the lids at all so it's great as an eyeshadow base. It's so easy to apply - you can use a brush or just your fingers,  I really like just patting it on with my finger and blending out the edges with a brush. It can be built up to get a darker outer corner/crease or just as a wash of colour on the lid.

For only £4.99 (and currently buy one get one half price at boots!) you can't really go wrong! I wish that Maybelline would bring out some more wearable shades, perhaps an ivory and a matte brown.

Do you have any Maybelline Colour Tattoos?

Thanks for reading,

Olivia
