Half Way to Becoming a Dentist!

Hi everyone!

Long time, no blog! I realise I haven't written a blog post in over year but I'm back and thought I would kick off with a little life update.

So if you didn't already know, I'm currently in my 3rd year of studying Dentistry. As it's a 5 year course, I recently passed the half way mark (woo woo!) which was celebrated to great extents with an absoultely fabulous ball with all of my year!

I've also had 2 city breaks abroad this year which has been absolutely fab! The first was to Barcelona to visit my friend Rubin who had been studying there. I had such a lovely time, despite losing my voice and being conned out of $15 for a 'traditional herbal remedy'...

The second was to Krakow as a post exam treat - what a beautiful city! I loved all the street artwork and there were some amazing little restaurants there. We also visited Auschwitz which was a real eye opener and definitely an emotional day. The salt mines were super fun - I licked all the walls haha and I definitely now have super high blood pressure ...

I've also been elected as Treasurer for our Dental Students Society for the next year which I can't wait to get stuck into. So far, I'm loving being on committee - mainly as we have personalised polos and eat cake at the meetings...

I also had a minor breakdown regarding exams and I chopped all my hair off - in the above picture you can see a massive strand of hair which clearly I forgot to cut oops...

I've recently come out of a relationship and now have a lot more time for myself, so I'm spending this time making some really good food (posts coming soon..) and hanging out with my friends! Dental School can be cliquey at times but I feel as though I've branched out from my friendship group a lot this year and so I'm looking to strengthen those relationships.

This may be a little deep for a Sunday afternoon, but I really feel as though I'm worrying less about all the stresses life brings. I care less about what other people think and if something goes wrong I'm finding it much easier to let go! I'm also feeling much more confident and a lot less anxious about social situations. I do find myself slipping back into my old ways in terms of feeling anxious about various things, but for the most part its onwards & upwards!

At home, my mum moved house to a lovely little home in Stockport! It's beautiful and cosy and I love spending time with her back there. I'm hoping we will go on a few adventures in the summer and I endeavour to keep you all updated with our antics.

I hope you've enjoyed this little debrief & update of my life! I'd love to hear all about any news you guys have too :)

ROSE GOLD DETAILS

Abbott Lyon Rose Gold Watch Ted Bake Rose Gold Earrings Asos
Abbott Lyon Rose Gold Watch Ted Bake Rose Gold Earrings Asos

Rose gold accessories are my absolute jam at the minute. Not only are they really quite festive, but I find they compliment any sort of outfit too! Despite not being a massive jewellery person, these are my favourite throw on pieces to oomph up any outfit and make me feel so much more glam!
I actually received the Abbott & Lyon watch for my 20th Birthday, along with these Ted Baker Rose Gold & Pearl studs. They are both absolutely stunning and just add a little something-something to my everyday jeans and a tee. The little teeny-tiny hoops are from ASOS and retail for a mere £6. They are a little fiddly to put in, especially if you have massive sausage fingers like myself. However, they're deffo worth the struggle as they look so cute!

What are your go to accessories this A/W?

JUNE TO DO LIST

I finished my exams a few weeks ago and with June in full swing now I can finally ditch the revision and focus on other exciting projects! I've got a long summer this year and I'm desperate to make the most of it so I've compiled a little June To Do List involving all of my summer goals.

1. Get my blog in order
HOW long have I been saying this for now? I really want to start posting regularly (say twice a week) and summer is the perfect time for me to get into the swing of things. I also am desperate to improve my photography as I feel its really holding my blog back.

2. Declutter
I seriously need to declutter my room at home. Since being at Uni I've bought so many new things, I've got no idea how on earth they're all going to fit in my room at home. I'm going to start with taking all the clothes I don't wear to the charity shop/recycling centre - I literally have clothes from when I was about 11 years old. I also have tons of old make up lying about at home that I know I never use as I haven't taken it to Uni with me. Not to mention all my old school work and revision that will need to be recycled too! Sounds like this could follow on into July.

3. Spend time with my mum
Now that I'm at Uni, my mum is at home all on her own, rattling about in our house. Not helped by the fact all of our family live in Kent and we're up here in Manchester! I'm really going to make an effort to spend time with her this holiday and do loads of lovely Mother-Daughter activities. As well as help her around the house whenever I can

4. Do a little bit of exercise
Exercise really isn't something I do on a regular basis. I won't lie, I'm an avid walker - and a particularly fast one too. But tell me to run/swim/any other form of exercise and I will quickly refuse. However, I'm going on holiday at the end of June and want to look my best in a swimming cozzie so I'm going to take part in the 30 Day Shred again as I really enjoyed it last year!

5. Get creative with my make up and hair
This is a bit of a silly one, but I always feel in a rut with my make up! I just immediately reach for the warm toned eyeshadows, but I really want to try new products and techniques to switch it up a little bit!

So, there you have it - my June To Do List, what's on yours?

DEALING WITH EXAM STRESS

Yes, my tea really is that milky.

Exam season has reared it's ugly head once again. No one enjoys it, no matter how much you love the subject you're studying. The library's full. Your room's a mess as you don't have time to tidy it. Your mind says hummus and pitta but your summer bod says salad with no dressing. Overall it's just a very, very stressful time. Whether you're doing GCSEs, A-levels or Finals, everyone can benefit from these top tips to de-stress whilst studying.

Take a break
Revision breaks are an absolute must. You can't sit there and concentrate on one subject for hours on end, it's just not physically possible. Scientists say you should adopt the Pomodoro technique - 20 minutes of work and 5 minutes of rest. Although I don't use this technique religiously, I do make sure I have plenty of breaks and switch up the subjects I'm studying as to not get bored.

Exercise
Now I'm not asking you to run a marathon or do an intense session in the gym (but if you're up for that then GO YOU, BOO!) but I find getting up off my arse really helps motivate me.. even if that is just to walk to the fridge. Jokes aside, walking in the fresh air on a nice day can really help to clear your mind and help you to feel refreshed. I like to walk around the local park on my revision break - kill 2 birds with one stone!

Don't burn yourself out
You don't want to burn the candle at both ends during the exam period. If you work better in the mornings, perhaps go to bed a little earlier to ensure you get enough sleep. Similarly if you work better in the evenings, there's no point finishing your work at 3am then trying to wake up at 7am! You'll just be exhausted for the rest of the day and end up getting less done that if you'd woken up at 11am.

Stay hydrated
Staying hydrated is really important for brain function, and being dehydrated can give you headaches which are not fun when you're studying! Keep a bottle of water by your desk (preferably a big one so you don't have to fill it up) and remember to just sip on it every now and then. Your whole body will thank you for it.

Have something to look forward to
This can be in the short term or the long term, but it will make you feel more motivated to get your work done sharpish! For example, maybe have your favourite meal for dinner after a long day of studying. Or even plan a night out with your besties after your last exam! I've got a holiday planned at the end of June with my friends to Malaga and I can't wait. Remember, exam period is only temporary but the results are permanent...

So there we have my top five tips on how to make exam season a little bit less stressful. Of course, it's nothing groundbreaking but I think we all need reminding every now and then!

I've got my end of first year exams in a few weeks and I'm so nervy, praying the Dentistry Gods will help me.

Have you got any studying tips?

Love, Liv x

SUMMER READING

source: pinterest
Since entering the world of eBooks and Goodreads at the start of this summer, I have discovered so many new books and authors that I have truly fallen in love with. They all seem to be of a murder mystery come psychological thriller genre and very Gillian Flynn-esque. I thought I'd share a few that I've read - the good, the bad and the ugly - to hopefully give you some bookspiration if you're not sure what to read next.

It all started with The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins which is an absolutely fab book that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I think I may have finished the book within about 2-3 days as I just couldn't put it down. The book is narrated by the different characters which I find makes it more fast pace as you are eager to find out what's happening next with a particular character. The characters are fab and I feel as though I can relate to all 3 of the main ladies in the book in some way which I like as I find it engages the reader a bit more. Overall a fantastic book and I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

After finishing that book, I needed something to fill the mystery-and-suspense-less void in my life and so took to Google to tell me which books were like TGOTT. I came across The Good Girl by Mary Kubica which is all about the kidnapping of a young girl. Whilst reading this book I really wasn't a fan and I almost hated the characters - giving them the eye roll whenever something totally predictable happened. However on reflection,  I did actually enjoy it as there is a cheeky plot twist at the end however it's not really developed enough to score as highly as TGOTT, but a fab book nonetheless.

The next three novels are all by the same author. Of course, it's Gillian Flynn. I honestly have no idea how it has taken me so long to discover her but she is honestly amazing. Now you will have all read at least one her books. It's Gone Girl, of course. An absolutely FAB book that I can't rave about enough.  After I finished the book I couldn't wait to watch the film, but sadly I felt sad/annoyed at the casting choice of Amy and Nick (and Desi) and so switched it off. This has slightly tainted my image of Gone Girl but definitely give the book a read if you haven't all ready. After Gone Girl I read Dark Places which is also a fab, murder mystery told by different characters in both the past and present day. It's definitely worth the read if you enjoyed Gone Girl. I then read Sharp Objects which is my absolute fave. Seriously. It's amazing. It's most certainly on par with Gone Girl (I personally prefer Sharp Objects after the Gone Girl film fiasco) and is definitely not a predictable story line in the slightest. Flynn definitely knows how to keep us on our toes, doesn't she?

I came across the Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll during one of my Google searches which is one I probably won't be raving about as much. The thing is, there wasn't really a story line and it almost felt as if it wasn't going anyway. After reading such amazing books with the craziest of plot twists by Gillian Flynn, I was just underwhelmed with this book unfortunately. I felt like there were so many characters that just weren't developed enough and I can barely remember what it was about.

Similarly, Dare Me by Megan Abbott was another reasonably boring book in comparison to others. It's about cheerleaders in high school which makes the writing style and themes very unsophisticated compared to books like Gone Girl. Furthermore, after reading some of the reviews on Goodreads, it appears that there are some pretty confusing mistakes in the book like bleachers in the locker room, the coaching having a bob one week then plaits the next etc etc. Despite this, I have given the author another go and I am now reading The End of Everything. I'm about half way through but whether I actually finish it...

If you'd like to follow me on Goodreads you can here.

What books have you been reading this summer?

Lots of love,
Olivia

WHAT'S IN MY NIGHT OUT BAG?

Nights out are great, right? Until you realise you've forgetten your ID, debit card or even worse - eyelash glue!!! For this reason, I have compiled a checklist of all the things you should be stuffing in your tiny clutch for a night on the toon.

Phone - goes without saying. How else are you going to remember your night out without the hilarious/hideous photos on your camera roll. Or if you're like me, the double chinned selfie posted on your snapchat story.

Keys - even if you're on the pull and plan on going home with someone else - always bring your keys! It could go tits up (not in a good way).

Money/debit card - for when you're feeling generous and decide to get the next round.. again.

ID - depending on your age and if you have a baby face like me, this one is probably optional.

Eyelash glue - as mentioned before, this is an absolute essential. You can't be walking round with a wonky eyelash or with one half way down your cheek. Also there's no greater feeling than offering your tiny vial of glue to a girl in need in the loos.

Perfume - if you don't fancy buying a spray from the 'no Armani, no punani' toilet attendant, it's best to bring your own perfume. Realistically, you don't want to be carrying a whole bottle round all night so it's good to invest in a Traval O mini refillable one.

Lipstick - there's nothing worse than getting a drink with no straw and having all of your lippy disappear within 2 minutes of arrival, so make sure you bring your favourite lip product with you for a cheeky top up in the ladies. Preferably bring a nude so you don't end up leaving the club looking like the Joker.

Powder & Brush - so you don't look like a sweaty mess. Enough said.

I'd love to hear what your essentials are on a night out!

A LEVEL RESULTS & UNIVERSITY

source: pinterest
Hey guys. Long time no see, huh? It's been a while. As much as I'd love to say I'm back for good and shall be posting more regularly, I can't. My life has been pretty busy as of late and I can't say that's going to change. However, I'm really gonna try and make this work!

As the title suggests, the topic of this post will be all about A level results and the daunting task that is heading off to University! Whether you've just got your results and are planning the 7 day bender that is freshers. Or your uni days feel like a life time ago, I'm hoping you both can still enjoy this post. I'm the former, after collecting my results on the 18th (3A*s, don't you know?) I've been very much looking forward to arriving to my flat later on this month. I'm going to be studying Dentistry and the University of Sheffield and couldn't be more chuffed with myself to be very honest. My exams felt like they went bloody awful and I was pooing myself on the morning of results. However, all is well.

I actually haven't bought much for Uni yet which is making me feel very unprepared. I'm thinking of bringing most things from home like plates, bowls, bedding etc etc. It's very nerve racking, isn't it? You can probably tell I'm nervous from my erratic, no structure prose in this post. If only to be as organised as the picture I've used suggests. Actually, I've just come across The Organised Student on Pinterest and think they're bloody fab. They've even got me googling desk organiser.

I'm hoping to do an updated post re university when I'm there (if I survive) and hopefully maybe have a series on it. If anyone is looking to go to university or is doing A levels at the moment and has any questions, I'd love to help.

Lots of love,

Olivia

BLOG UPDATE

New Year, New Blog?

If you saw my New Years Resolutions post you will know that one of my goals is to start blogging more so I thought I'd do a little revamp to motivate me to post more regularly.
The last time I updated my blog feels like absolutely donkey years ago so I have changed a few key details including the header and the side headings.

You can probs tell I haven't got a pro to do it - I just used PicMonkey to make all the changes. It drives me absolutely mad but it's the best free online photo editor out there! It's not the most creative as art just isn't my forte, but I do hope you like it as much as me.

I'd love to know if you have any suggestions on how to improve my design!

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

source: Pinterest

Another year is here and this time I'm determined to stick to my goals and resolutions.

2014 has been good to me and I'm hoping that will be reciprocated in 2015 and for years after. I'm going into the New Year with positive thinking (although I have mock exams when I go back to Sixth Form which could change all of that) and with a few tangible goals, which include:

1. Stay healthy
I'm not usually unhealthy but I do occasionally binge on chocolate, sweets, crisps and I love a McDonalds once in a blue moon. Then again, I'm not super healthy; I don't eat salads everyday nor do I own a gym membership. The reason I have said 'stay healthy' instead of 'become healthy' or 'get fit' is that I actually do feel healthy and I want that to continue but with a few less packets of crisps!

2. Wear what I want
I feel like this applies to make up especially. I sometimes feel like I wear too much just because my friends aren't as interested with make up, but it is just something I enjoy!! I can't help it, I just get carried away haha. I think I've found my ultimate naturalish false lash (Eyelure's 70 lashes if you're wondering) which I want to stock up on so I can wear them whenever I want.

3. Work hard
This applies to both sixth form and on my blog. As I mentioned I have mocks in Biology and Chemistry as soon as I go back to Sixth Form and I haven't done as much revision as I'd like to. Of course, I've done a few past papers but some things I'm just not that confident on. I feel as though I need to stop beating myself up about it though haha. I also need to start getting into a good blogging routine so I can upload more posts. 2015 will be the year when I get a post up every week - I PROMISE!

4. Be more helpful
Particularly around the house. As it's just me and my mum in my house most of the time, I really should be helping her a lot more so she doesn't feel as though she's on her own.

5. Finish my Wreck This Journal
I recieved one for Christmas and it so good! I've only done a few pages so far, but I shall finish it later this year! It's such a unique idea and allows you to be very creative.

6. Read more books
I love books but feel as though I never have time to read them, but the reality is that I do have enough time I'm just always on my phone! My boyfriend bought me Peyton Place for Christmas, after I enjoyed Valley of the Dolls so much, which I shall be starting tonight!

I hope y'all had a brill New Year and I hope 2015 brings you all you could wish for.

AUGUST ROUND UP

A little update of what I've been doing for the past month.

Mid August I went down to Kent to see my family, I had a really good time and I've been meaning to compile some photos from the week into a post but I just keep forgetting, so Ive included a few in this post. I had a great time and it's nice to catch up with family members that you haven't seen for a year!

Then, a couple days after I had landed back in Manchester, it was results day. I was feeling very nervous, despite knowing that I'd worked hard and put a ton of effort in! I got 7A*s and 3As so the party on the Friday night was definitely a celebratory one. Since then, I have been buying clothes for sixth form (I start on Wednesday eek!) I'm going to the same school as I have been for the past 5 years so hopefully it won't be too daunting. I am doing Spanish, Chemistry, Biology and Geography at A Level as I do enjoy these subjects, although Spanish not so much. I did a bit of AS Spanish last year because I did my GCSE a year early and I can't say I've enjoyed it. I feel like all the useful things I learnt for GCSE I've now forgotten aha!

I'm also on the app 'Make Up Social' my username is oliviakiernan and I'd love to follow you if you have an account so feel free to leave your username down below!

Hopefully I should be able to post rather regularly if I manage my time well like doing homework the night I get it (I actually stuck to this through the whole of year 11 - apart from long essays which I did on the weekend as I felt I had more time)

Thanks for reading, if you're going back to school/college/university in September then I wish you luck!

RECENT NON BEAUTY FAVES

I have been loving a lot of non beauty related stuff recently and I thought I'd show a couple of my most recent favourites.

THE SECRET HISTORY BY DONNA TARTT

I bought this book because of Katie Snooks' recommendation as she said it was her favourite book and it didn't disappoint. Although it did take a while for me to get into it, once it began to pic up speed I couldn't put it down. I would definitely recommend this book, but I wouldn't say it was an 'easy' read, mainly due to the story line (which I won't say much about in case you want to read it yourself).

ULTRAVIOLENCE - LANA DEL REY

Ultraviolence has been a firm favourite of mine ever since it was released in the UK on the 16th June. I honestly cannot sop listening to it. If you're a lover of LDR then give it a listen, if you haven't already. There has been a lot of bad press surrounding Lana about feminism and idolising people who have died young. Of you're up to date with the whole sitch you'll probably know that the author of the article made it appear worse by not including everything she was saying. How annoying. I suppose it emphasises the whole 'don't believe everything you read' sort of thing. Anyway, the album is amazing and I adore all of the songs and I really couldn't pick a favourite (I just tried to write down all my favourites then realised I had included virtually the whole track list). Plus, how beaut does Lana look on the cover? Gorgeous.

SUNNIES

This pair of sunglasses is supposed to represent some of the amazing weather we've been having recently and I've really been loving it. Although I haven't really caught much of a tan, I do enjoy just being out in the sunshine.

That's it for my recent non beauty faves! What are yours?

BEST BEAUTY BLOGGERS ON THE BLOCK

The blogging community is one of the best things about blogging, so to share the love of some of my favourite bloggers I thought I would so a post on the best beauty bloggers on the block.

Gorgeous girl, gorgeous photography and overall a gorgeous blog. Maddy is insanely talented and her writing style and pro shot photos always keep me coming back for more.

I have adored Islay's blog for so long. Her photography is perfect, as are her youtube videos which are so wonderfully edited! She's uploaded some great recipes and how to posts, including how to press pigments and a recipe for a delicious looking strawberry and cream cake. Not to mention her nail posts/ tutorials in which she is insanely talented!

Kate's blog is absolutely stunning; from the blog design to the photos to the content. Not to mention Kate herself is bloody gorgeous too. She also makes videos on youtube like tag videos and also grwm/tutorials which are brill.

I have been following Tash's blog and youtube for as long as I can remember and I could literally sit there all day watching her videos on youtube and reading her posts. I love her Get Ready With Me vids and I thoroughly trust, and live by, her recommendations of different beauty bits. You should all go and check her out.

That is it for my fave bloggers, of course there are many, many more but I thought I'd keep this post short and sweet!

Who are your favourite bloggers? I'd love to check 'em out.

Week in instagram #1

Hi guys!

Today I thought I'd do an instagram post as I've been a little busy lately and I haven't had time to plan any blog posts (although I've got some good ones coming!) I say I've been busy but my insta doesn't even show that - just selfies haha. School is boring at the moment and we're just getting loads of homework. I've got my English presentation tomorrow which is going to be poo as I'm the least confident person ever. In other news, I went to go and see Devils Due the other day at the cinema and that can only mean one thing .. tango ice blasts!!! Yes they are the best thing about the cinema. I've also been enjoying lots of sweets and lots of Lana. I'm longing to be back at her concert and can't wait for her to be back on tour, I'm definitely going to see her! Cups of tea and Chelsea boots sum up this week (and winter) perfectly I think.

Sorry if this post is a little dodgy, I'm writing it on the blogger app which we all know is bloody awful!

My instagram is @livroses_ and I'd love it if you could give it a follow! Leave your usernames down below and ill be sure to check them out!

Thanks for reading, I hope you all had a good weekend!

Weekly(ish) Round Up #1: Kent, GCSE Results

Hello guys!

I hope you're all well and ready for the bank holiday weekend, hopefully the weather will be nice and the sun will make an appearance, a rare occasion in Manchester. I'm sorry for the lack of posts recently, I went on holiday last Thursday and forgot to schedule any posts, but I will be posting a lot more regularly from now on!

Although I haven't done all of my exams yet, I did my Spanish GCSE a year early and I picked the results up earlier today and got an A*!! I am so pleased (and extremely relieved), and as far as I know, the whole class has done well!

As I said, last Thursday I went on holiday to Kent with my mum and my sister. We stayed with my Grandma in Hythe and then spent a couple of days with my dad who lives in Ashford. Every time we go down there we always have such a good time and do so many cool things! Every summer we have to go in the sea, it has almost become a sort of tradition, my Uncle Colin also has a canoe so we go in that too if the sea isn't too choppy and rough! Probably the majority of my family live in Kent, so we often get to see a lot of relatives which is really nice! We got to see my cousin Sarah and her baby boy, Rocco, he is only 1 and so cute! Another thing I love about going to Hythe is that we always have really nice food, my Aunty Jane is amazing at cooking so we always have a massive feast at some point too, often more than one! We also went to see an Elvis Presley tribute act on Hythe Military Canal which was quite funny and good entertainment seeing as though it was free! Whilst staying with my Dad, Sue and my little sister Beth in Ashford, we went roller skating (I was the one that fell over, obviously!), we visited Herne Bay which is a real touristy sea side town, we went to American Diner where I felt like Lana Del Rey and we also went to the White Horse in Bislington to celebrate my sister's A Levels (A* A A), my meal was huge and I felt as though I could barely walk after!

I will include some photos from my holiday to show how much fun we had and also no one likes a post with no pictures! ;)

Formby Beach, Liverpool

obligatory train pic
the next station is Formby
after climbing a massive hill/sand dune we could finally see the sea
the beach

It has been pretty good weather recently, despite some thunder storms, so my friends and I decided to book tickets to go to Liverpool to visit Formby. I'd been there before with my family a while ago so I knew it was such a nice town with a beach that was usually packed on a hot summers day. We got the train, and because we had to book the tickets in advance, we had to guess which day had the best weather, let's just say that we picked the wrong day. It was chucking it down in the morning in Manchester and all whilst we were on the train and in Formby (despite BBC weather saying the complete opposite a week ago..) Nevertheless we still got into our bikinis and went in the sea, which we had all to ourselves. It was absolutely freezing and we probably looked like complete weirdos, but it was soo funny! We actually stayed in the sea for quite a while despite the awful weather, we only got out when we saw a load of jellyfishes! After we dried ourselves off we walked back to the train station and got the train back to Liverpool Central where we had a little wander around all the shops and had something to eat. Then after a bit we got the train back home. Although it wasn't quite the day we thought it would be, it still turned out pretty fun and I had a good time!

What have you been up to recently?

summer's in the air, baby heaven's in your eyes

Hello lovelies!

You may remember the other week when the sun finally came out to play! I didn't expect it to be sunny so I actually hadn't made any plans so I spent the day in the garden which was surprisingly nice! In the evening my sister and I decided to go on a bike ride! Although living in a town, behind our house we have the trans penine trail which is really nice to walk through in the summer! I thought I'd take some pictures because I thought it looked quite pretty with the sun shining through the leaves on the trees! I thought I'd do a few more lifestyle posts on here because I love having a little nosey into what people have been getting up to and I think posts like these are a great way to get to know a bit more about the person behind the blog too!

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed! Let me know if you like posts like these so I can do more/less of them!

LANA DEL REY!

Hey Guys!

Today's post is something a little different and more of a lifestyle post. So if you follow me on twitter, read my blog or follow me on tumblr, you will most probably know that I went to see Lana Del Rey in concert on Thursday. It was AMAZING. If you have been following for a long time you may remember the post when I bought the tickets and was so excited to go! I went with my sister, Sophie, because she also loves Lana Del Rey SO much. And although some of my friends like her too, I don't think they like her as much as I do! I got the tickets way back in November, and I was counting down the days until 23 May 2013.Because we went on a Thursday I was at school, so we couldn't go there really early and camp out etc etc, which I actually would have liked to do! Instead we went pretty much straight after I got home and only had about 30mins to do my make up and hair! Luckily, I managed it and then we set off!

We got the metolink to Manchester Picadilly Train Station and then walked to the O2 Apollo from there. We thought the queue was huge when we first got there, but in all honesty it wasn't that long. We got there about an hour and a half before the doors opened, and we weren't too far from the front of the queue. Also, because it was at the O2 we were in the O2 priority queue because my sister has an O2 phone (how many times have I just said O2?!) so we got let in a few minutes before!

When we were eventually let in we ran down to the stall bit, because we had standing tickets, and then waited and waited for what felt like forever (about an hour!) for the support act. It was mean to be Kassidy, but Barrie (Lana's boyfriend) was having dental surgery so Sam Bradley filled in for them. I had never heard any of his music before, and I don't think many other people had, but it was still enjoyable. After he had played a couple of songs, we had to wait around 30 minutes for Lana, and oh boy was it worth the wait!!

Lana opened with Cola and it was amazing! I can't describe how good she was, when she first came on I started crying haha! And my legs were shaking (probably due to standing on my tip toes trying to see over everyone's head!) It feels as though it went so quickly when she was singing, and I keep remembering random things about it! I made some friends there too, it's amazing how easy it is to talk to people who have the same music tastes and interests as you! Although there were only a few people in front of me, I didn't manage to touch her/ get a picture with her :( but I did take a couple of videos, including her singing National Anthem! I took a few pictures too, but because I didn't take my camera (due to fear of losing it!) I had to take all videos/pictures on my blackberry, so they aren't the most amazing quality, but I will insert some here! and also the video that I took! Unfortunately I didn't manage to take pictures of my whole outfit but I was wearing my black topshop joni jeans, a newlook white top, black chelsea boots and a leather jacket!

getting a bit excited

LANA!! look at those thighs!

such good quality..not
I swear she looked at me..

Please excuse my singing/shouting/howling I was very excited and also sad because National Anthem was the last song! Also, I know that it wasn't the best filming, I wasn't actually looking at what I was filming I was just holding my phone in the air and I was watching here! If Lana does comes to Manchester again, I am definitely going and I WILL get a picture with her! I still can't get over the fact that we were breathing the same air oh my gosh!
I am sorry for the blurry pictures and the not the best video!
Did you go to see Lana?
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!

EXCITING NEWS - LANA DEL REY

I AM GOING TO SEE LANA DEL REY!!!
That was literally me! The tickets go on sale on the 5th of November, but my sister is on o2 so we got priority tickets and got them a couple of days earlier (Friday). I didn't actually know they were going to be on sale (bad fan, I know) but my gorgeous friend Rachel told me and I can't thank her enough. I'm going to see her at the O2 Apollo, Manchester. You can get full details HERE. I am so excited, and couldn't be happier with life at the moment (well maybe if I could get all the things on my November wishlist) I am going to see her on the 23rd May 2013, which I know, feels like yonks away, but I'm sure the time will fly, as it always does. The tickets were relatively cheap for what I'd actually pay to go and see her, they were only £31.50, which is an absolute STEAL. We got the stalls bit, so hopefully if we arrive early, we will be able to get to the front and be as close to her as possible! Oooh by the way, I'm going with my sister, Sophie, if I didn't already mention.
I'd love to hear if you are going, or if you are going to any concerts soon! Lots of love and thank you for reading! Sorry it's now a beauty/fashion post!
